AMITYVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY

BROOKHAVEN FREE LIBRARY

Our youngest patrons experienced the importance of discovering and playing this year with our under-the-sea-themed event! Kiddos found seashells in the sand, made a baby shark, splashed in water and played in a marine TOUCH tank thanks to The Sports Fishing Education Center- Cornell Cooperative Extension!

CONNETQUOT PUBLIC LIBRARY

Children enjoyed open-ended fun with Imagination Playground’s lightweight foam blocks, encouraging social, emotional, and intellectual development through joyful play from Jumpbunch.

COPIAGUE PUBLIC LIBRARY

At the Copiague Library, families discovered all of the wonderful activities and technology we have for them in the Children’s Room.  Families played jumbo board games, colored on our smartboard, gamed on our computers and more.

Preschoolers had a blast learning soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment where they developed self-esteem and teamwork skills.

LINDENHURST MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Special play stations were set up throughout the children’s department for parents and kids to play together.  After, families enjoyed a visit from The Travelin’ Trunk Show, an interactive storytelling musical that included costumed play, sound effects and of course music!

PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD LIBRARY

Over 125 children and their grownups attended our events for The Great Playdate on March 30th! We started off the day making awesome and creative sock puppets, then we were treated to an amazingly silly family puppet show performed by the talented Steve Petra, and we finished off the day with a session of Drop-In Free Play. It was a true celebration of the importance of play and fun in early childhood!

RIVERHEAD FREE LIBRARY

The children at the Riverhead Free Library were able to explore the colorful world of Eric Carle through dramatic play, sensory bins, and hands-on crafts.

Families visited the library for Open Sensory Play, an unstructured program featuring several stations of hands-on activities designed to stimulate the five senses.

WEST ISLIP PUBLIC LIBRARY

Our children and their families joined us for The Great Playdate 2019 here at West Islip Public Library! There was lots to do, friends to see, and fun to be had by all! Conversations and Crafting happened all day long with special craft stations set up in the Children’s Department. We also had special Sensory Play, Minute to Win It, and Trivia programs scheduled throughout the day.
